Applications are invited from eligible candidates for appointment to the post of Assistant Professor for M. Tech. (Product Life Cycle Management) course of the Institute on a purely tenure basis for the period of eleven months.
The candidates applying for the posts should have the following educational qualifications and experience as specified in [ Pay Scales, Service Conditions and Qualifications for the Teachers and other Academic Staff in Technical Institutions (Degree) Regulations, 2010] AICTE Notification F.No. 37-3/Legal./2010 Dt. 05/03/2010.
B. E. / B. Tech. and M. E. / M. Tech. in relevant branch with First Class or equivalent either in B.E. /B. Tech. or M. E. /M. Tech.
Teaching / Research / Industrial experience in the relevant discipline for a minimum of 5 years after acquiring Bachelor’s Degree.
The clause of experience is not applicable for persons with Ph. D. in relevant discipline.
SALARY : Rs. 40,000/- per month (consolidated)
I. Each application submitted should be accompanied by a Demand Draft of Rs. 500/- for the candidates belonging to Open Category and Rs. 300/- for the candidates belonging to Reserved Category, drawn in favour of “Director, SGGSIE&T, Nanded” payable at Nanded.
II. The interviews are scheduled on 15th Dec. 2010 at 11.00 A.M. in the Board Room of the Institute.
III. The interview call letters will be posted to the eligible candidates. However, the list of shortlisted candidates will be displayed on website on 11th Dec., 2010.
IV. The academic qualification and experience acquired up to last date of submission of application will be taken into account in determining the eligibility of candidates for the posts and for short-listing them for the interview.
V. Application must be accompanied by passport size photograph of the candidate along with relevant documents indicating qualification, age, category, experience, etc. and demand draft; failing which the application will be treated as incomplete and will be liable to be summarily rejected.
VI. Last date for submission of application form is 09th December, 2010. Applications received after last date due to any reason including postal delay will not be entertained and responsibility in this regard will solely rest with the concerned candidate. Applications received on Internet / Fax will NOT be considered.
VII. Candidates must produce all original certificates at the time of interview. No extension of time will be granted.
VIII. The envelope containing the filled application form should bear a clear title as “Application for the post of Assistant Professor (PLM)”.
IX. No TA/DA will be paid to the candidate for interview.
X. Candidates must submit separate application for each post if he / she is applying for more than one post.
XI. Retired persons (with age limit of 65 years maximum) may also apply subjected to their satisfying the requirements of qualifications.

A MoU was signed between Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) and the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIADI) for implementation of the Unique Identification Numbers (UID) project. According to the MoU, IGNOU will collaborate with the UIADI in conduction proof of concept (POC) studies; the university will also be a pilot to test the working of the technology and process of enrolment into the UID database and subsequently full roll-out of the UID project. The MOU was signed between UIADI chairman Nandan Nilekani and IGNOU vice-chancellor VN Rajasekharan Pillai.

It was also mentioned that IGNOU will do all that is necessary and required in order to effectively complete the POCs and pilots, and follow the criteria and process for appointment of enrolling agencies prescribed by the UIADI. Unique identification project was initially conceived by the Planning Commission as an initiative that would provide identification for each resident across the country and would be used primarily as the basis for efficient delivery of welfare services. It would also act as a tool for effective monitoring of various programs and schemes of the Government.
