1 Explain each of the following briefly:
(a) Disk administrator
(b) MIRROR S & T
(c) Thick ETHERNET
(d) ATM
(e) E-mail
(f) Print server
(g) File server
(h) SAM
(i) HTTP, FTP, PING, Gopher
(j) NDS.
Section-B Marks:5 Each
2. Explain remote access services and its usages.
3. Explain Network wide login using NDS.
4. Explain the following with regard to windows NT:
(a) System policy
(b) User profile
5. What are login scripts ? How will you Map Network volumes with drive letters
?
6. Differentiate between 'Internet' and 'Intranet'. What does "www"
and "http" stands for ? Explain.
Section-C Marks : 10 Each
7. List down best features of NT and Netware in tabular format. Mark out
advantages and disadvantages.
8. List down the various default users created with installation of NT.
Differentiate between FAT and NTFS. List their advantages and disadvantages over
each other.
9. Say you want to set up your own web server to host company's website. How
does Windows NT help you to achieve this ? Explain in detail.
